Saturday Darshan

Saturday Darshan

We believe we have been lucky when certain aspirations or wishes of our heart suddenly come true and we seem to agree more, that being at the right place and at the right time made it all possible. Our desires manifest gracefully before us without the slightest hint, as to how it might have come about.

Saturday Darshan is not a myth. It is a beautiful truth of wishes coming true when you take a darshan at any temple which has been built on magnetic energy points on earth and with uncompromised Vastu Shastra, Shilpa Shastra, and Agama Shastra, hence making it an ultimate spot or location to connect directly to the Supreme one!

Especially at Tirupati Balaji Temple, it is believed that most of the auspicious events of Lord Venkateshwara had occurred on a Saturday. Some amazing basis from the untold stories dating back to the Puranas will reveal the importance of a Saturday Darshan at Shree Tirupati Balaji’s Temple.

It was a Saturday when: 1. Lord Venkateshwara appeared at Venkatadri, the same day when Lord Vishnu took the form of Lord Venkateshwara 2. Lord Venkateshwara placed Shri Mahalaxmi on his chest 3. Lord Venkateshwara got wedded to Padmavati 4. Devotees found the idol of Lord Venkateshwara in Venkatadri 5. Omkaram was created 6. Saturday is also known as ‘Sthira Varam’ since any important task undertaken on this day will attain stability 7. Shani problems are eliminated or removed on Saturdays 8. Lord Shani had promised Lord Venkateshwara that no trouble would be caused to devotees worshipping Lord Venkateshwara on a Saturday 9. Trayodasi, the beloved day of Lord Shani falls on a Saturday 10. It is believed that, if Tailabhishekam (offering of oil) to Lord Shani is performed on Trayodasi, he will reduce his intensity 11. Lord Venkateshwara loves Neerajanam or lighted camphor. It is said that the Lord will bless those who worship Him on a Saturday with Neerajanam, with wealth.

Hence, the magnitude of the Lord’s affection for Saturday, can fulfill your heart’s desires with a Saturday Darshan at Shree Balaji Temple.

Daily Worship Schedule:

Each morning at 6:00, the Lord is woken up with the recitation of the Venkateshwara Suprabhatam followed by the ‘shodasha upacharam’ (16 Vedic poojas). 108 names of the Lord are chanted along with offering of flowers and tulsi leaves at the Lotus feet of Lord Venkateshwara and then an Archana Pooja is performed. Later, the idol of the Lord is bathed, dressed with fresh silk clothes and jewelry and offered camphor and Chandan. Fresh garlands of flowers created by the devotees, following particular devotional standards, are then offered to the Lord. By 7:30 am, Deepa (oil lamp), dhoop (incense), fruits and milk sweets are offered in the balabhogam, followed by Rajabhoga, which is a delicious preparation offered to the Lord. At 6:00 in the evening, a variety of fruits is offered to the Lord which is called Sandhya Bhog. The Lord is put to rest during Ekanta Seva with massaging of the Lotus feet of Lord Venkateshwara and recitation of devotional prayers and songs.
